Swamp Room
(Click Text above for Detail of individual rooms)
This office is a 24-hour emergency veterinary medical hospital. Kristen's complete concept
was conceived to help relax clients (and patients) and give them some diversion from their situational stress and concern.
The lobby was to remain professional and clean with just a hint of whimsy. There are various papier mâché animals and the colorful caduseus (veterinary symbol)
made of mixed media. behind the front desk.
Each of four examination rooms has a different theme which has proven stimulating for the clients and the staff.

Swamp Room
A little wetter and wilder than the other three rooms, this one is painted with cattails and reeds with small wetland insects and animals hidden in
the mural. The sculptures include turtles and lizards wandering on the walls and a surprise baby alligator lurking with a smile over the inside doorway.
Woodland Room
This is the largest of the examination rooms and includes two full-sized painted trees that canopy onto the ceiling creating a comforting, cool effect.
Again there are small painted insects and animals hiding in the mural for clients find. In one tree corner, three little papier mâché birds perch on a
sculpted branch that attaches between two walls. The other tree is inhabited by a papier mâché woodpecker who is spying a painted caterpillar inching along a high branch.
Dr. Stork, a papier mâché sculpture complete with spectacles and stethescope, sits atop a shelf above the sink - he helps bring whimsy and fun to the room.
Lilypad Room
Painted blossoming water lillies line the lower portion of the room giving a calming and fresh floral effect. "Leaping" about the room are two
large papier mâché frogs with their attention on a very large smiling dragonfly. He's the free-hanging comic relief for the room!
Desert Room
Large oversized blue agave cactus and a beautiful blooming yucca plant are painted in this room. The sculptures include lizards and a horned toad spying
the agaves for little creepy crawly morsels. They're there, you've just got to find them!
